The tailgate lock for the Fiat Ducato from model year 06 is a useful accessory for motorhomes, vans and camping vehicles. It provides additional door security to keep out unwanted intruders. However, there are many similar products on the market and it can be difficult to make the right purchase decision.

How the rear door lock works

The rear door lock is attached to the screws for the door lock latch. This means that it is firmly connected to the most solid part of the rear door. The solid 6mm steel split pin connects the two halves of the lock and prevents the doors from being opened from the outside.

Even if a burglar has cracked the lock, he cannot open the door. Prickstop can prevent the door from being punctured. But there are other ways to open the lock yourself by force. The rear door lock should therefore be part of the security concept for your motorhome. It is also inexpensive and easy to install.

To install the rear door lock you need about 3cm of space between the door and any existing wall cabinets. Please check in advance.
