This protective plate for the rear door prevents an intruder from piercing the door and then levering out the central locking rod. The area around the lock is reinforced with stainless steel sheet. The Ad Blue tank on the Fiat Ducato is not locked. This means that any passerby can unscrew the cap and remove the liquid. It would be even worse if foreign substances got into the tank. The locking latch is attached behind the locked tank cap. This means that when the tank cap is locked, the Ad Blue cap is also locked.

The burglary protection of the Fiat Ducato and similar vehicles has a glaring weakness: a burglar can use a sharp object to pierce the thin sheet metal of the door and then trigger the central locking system.
Prickstop effectively prevents this. The sheet metal is reinforced with an additional 1,5mm thick stainless steel plate. This makes piercing with hand tools significantly more difficult.
There is no lock (locking cylinder) on the passenger door, so it is not possible to trigger the central locking system using this method and a prick stop is not necessary there either.
The weak point still exists in the Ducato 8.
There are models with and without a lock on the rear door. You only need the prick stop if you have a lock on the rear door.
There is no lock on the sliding door, so there is no prick stop for it.
